Nick Kyrgios will meet Kamil Majchrzak in the Round of 16 of the 2022 Tokyo Open. The match will be played on Thursday October 6th, 2022.

Nick Kyrgios is ranked 20th on the ATP Tour and is the 5th seed at the Tokyo Open. The enigmatic Aussie has had a fantastic season in 2022, highlighted by his run to the Wimbledon Final where he lost to Novak Djokovic. He has openly stated that he was bitterly disappointed to not win the US Open, so it seems like he will be aiming to end the year with a bang. He dispatched Tseng Chun-hsin without much of a fuss, winning 6-3, 6-1 in the First Round in a dominant performance. The story is always the same with Kyrgios. If he’s focused and at his best, he is basically unstoppable. If he allows external factors to bother him, he is vulnerable. Kyrgios is the massive favorite against Kamil Majchrzak and we will be expecting yet another dominant performance as he heads towards another potential title.

Kamil Majchrzak is unseeded here at the Tokyo Open and is ranked #121 in the world. The Pole has had a decent season, reaching three Quarter-Finals including last week in Sofia. His attempt to make it two in a row will be very complicated however, as he faces one of the best players in the world in Nick Kyrgios. Despite being the big underdog here, he has served extremely well so far in Tokyo and will need some more of that as break opportunities against the Aussie are expected to be very limited. Anything can happen when it comes to Kyrgios, but he has been on another level this year and things are looking bleak.

This should be smooth sailing for Nick Kyrgios, as he is clearly the much better player. However, the Aussie is as unpredictable as they come, despite being very consistent this season. Kamil Majchrzak is a solid player but lacks the upside needed here. Kyrgios almost never loses to players ranked below him unless he has a meltdown, and those have been few and far between this year. Expect a dominant Kyrgios win as he marches on towards the title.
