Real Sociedad vs. Sheriff 10/13/22 UEFA Europa League Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Real Sociedad and Sheriff face off on Thursday in a Group E Europa League showdown at Estadio Anoeta. 

When these two teams faced off last Thursday, it was Real Sociedad that was able to secure the 2-0 victory. The two goals for Real Sociedad were in the second half. David Silva opened up the scoring in the 53rd minute. Real Sociedad had 66 percent of the possession and three shots on target. Sheriff had 34 percent of the possession and three shots on target. Moussa Kyabou did pick up a red card in the 61st minute. 

Real Sociedad comes into this game sitting in 1st place in the standings having picked up nine points. On Sunday, Real Sociedad faced off against Villarreal, and they were able to secure a 1-0 victory. Brias Mendez scored in the 33rd minute and that was enough to secure the victory. They had 61 percent of the possession and five shots on goal, on the way to the victory. Umar Sadiq and Mikel Oyarzabal are both dealing with injuries, and they aren’t going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Sheriff, who sit in 3rd place in the standings having picked up three points. Sheriff faced off against FC Dinamo-Auto over the weekend, and they were able to secure the 1-0 victory. Sheriff’s offense at times has been a bit inconsistent and will need to be improved upon here. The good news for Sheriff is they are pretty healthy coming into this game, but they will be without Moussa Kyabouu who picked up a red card in the last game and won’t be able to go in this game. In this game, they need to push the numbers forward and try to get that first goal early. 

Even if Sheriff pushes the number forward, I don’t think they are going to find a lot of success here. They just aren’t a very good offensive team, and they aren’t going to score enough to get the job done here. Look for Real Sociedad to score at least two goals, and they will cover the -1.5.
