Ireland and Armenia face off on Tuesday in a League B Group 1 UEFA Nations League showdown at Aviva Stadium. When these two teams faced off on June 4th it was Armenia that secured the 1-0 victory.

Ireland comes into this game sitting in 3rd place in the standings having picked up four points. On Saturday, Ireland faced off against Scotland, and the defense gave up two goals on the way to the defeat. Ireland actually opened up the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal by John Egan. There were two goals in the second half given up, though. Ireland had 38 percent of the possession and four shots. Josh Cullen picked up his second red card in the last game, and he will be suspended for this game. Alan Browne or Jeff Hendrick are expected to move into the starting lineup in place of Cullen.

On the other side of this matchup is Armenia who sit in 4th place in the standings having picked up three points. On Saturday, Armenia faced off against Ukraine and the defense was awful, giving up five goals. They finished with four shots on goal, but they only had 36 percent of the possession. In this game, Armenia needs to find a way to get the offense going early, and the defense needs to step up. Arman Hovhannisyan and Kamo Hovhannisyan were both suspended in the last game, but both players can move into the starting lineup here. If the defense doesn’t find success here, it’s going to be a long game.

Armenia beat Ireland 1-0 in the last game, but this game is going to be a lot different. Armenia’s defense is an issue coming into this game, and they are going to give up a couple of goals to Ireland in this game. Look for Armenia to struggle to score and that will be the difference as Ireland gets the job done. Back Ireland on the money line.
