Germany and Hungary face off on Friday in a League A Group 3 UEFA Nations League showdown at Red Bull Arena. When these two teams faced off on June 11th, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Hungary comes into this game sitting in 1st place in the standings having picked up seven points. Hungary’s last game came against England, and the offense scored four goals on the way to the victory. They only had 31 percent of the possession, but they finished with five shots on goal and four goals. Roland Sallai scored two goals in the last game, but he is dealing with an eye injury, and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. Loic Nego is expected to start here at right-wing back.

On the other side of this matchup is Germany, who sits in second place in the standings having picked up six points. Germany looked wonderful in their last game against Italy, and they hope to build off that success here. Germany scored five goals, and that was enough to win by three goals. There were four different goalscorers, with Timo Werner scoring two goals. They had 66 percent of the possession and nine shots on target. Werner is expected to get the start again in this game, and they need a big game out of him. Marco Reus is dealing with an ankle injury, and won’t be able to go in this game.

There is no doubt that Hungary looked good the last time these two teams faced off, but now they go on the road and playing in Germany is a whole different animal. I don’t expect Hungary to find a ton of success scoring here, and this will be a very comfortable victory for Germany. Back Germany -1.5 to cash here.
