AS Monaco is welcoming Stade Brestois to Stade Louis II in round 37 of the French Ligue 1. Monaco is on fire firth now, they are on a fantastic winning streak, and they are close to the Champions League. Brest is in the middle of the table, they have nothing to gain or to lose in this one, and they haven’t been the greatest team on the road so far.

As I’ve mentioned, Monaco is on an 8-game winning streak, and they are now in 3rd place with 65 points, which is 3 points less than Marseille has in 2nd place. The spot Monaco is on right now is the Champions League qualifications spot, but I’m pretty sure they would like to avoid that. Monaco has been scoring a lot of goals this season, and they can score a lot more because they are a good team. Ben Yedder has been on fire as well, and he has scored 21 goals so far for Monaco. Henrique has added 8 assists. Diatta and Fabregas are both injured. Monaco has a favorable schedule for the rest of the season, and with the way they are playing, I could see Monaco qualifying for the Champions League without additional qualifications.

Brest has been on solid form throughout the season, and they are in solid form right now, but with nothing left to play for, I think they might give a shot to some younger players in their last 2 games. With 48 points, Brest is now in 11th place, which is pretty good for them. Offensively, Brest was decent so far this season, while their defense has also been solid with 49 conceded goals in 36 games. After this game, Brest is hosting Bordeaux in the last game of the season, and seeing how Bordeaux will most likely get relegated, they might just get a win in that one. There are a couple of injuries and a red card suspension in Brest, which will prompt them to use players that haven’t been playing a lot this season. There is no pressure on Brest, they are far away from the relegation zone, and they can now play to enjoy and just try to get the best result they can.

Monaco hasn’t lost any of their last 9 games, and they haven’t lost any of their last 5 home games. Most of the success Brest has had against Monaco was at home. Monaco simply has to get a win here, and with the form they are in right now, I think they will. I’m going with Monaco and goals.
