AC Milan is welcoming Bologna to Sam Siro in round 31 of the Italian Serie A. Milan has lost the top spot, but with a positive result in this game, they will be back on the top. Bologna is now on a 2-game losing streak, but they are the team that can defeat anyone on their day.
Milan is now undefeated in their last 10 games while winning 6 of those 10 games, which was enough to spend some time at the top of the Serie A table. Because Napoli has won their game this past weekend, Milan has dropped to 2nd place, but they have the same number of points as Napoli does. Milan is pretty solid on both ends this season, they have scored 56 goals while conceding only 29 goals in 30 games. Milan also has only 2 injuries at the moment, and that will certainly help them a lot with their depth and quality issues on the bench. Ibrahimovic, Giroud, and Leao are leading goalscorers for Milan with 8 goals each. Hernandez has added 6 assists. Milan’s schedule in Serie A for the rest of the season might be the easiest of all the other title competitors, but that doesn’t mean they can relax. Milan must stay focused, they need to keep winning points, and I have a good feeling about that.
Bologna has won only 1 of their last 10 games, but luckily for them, they have had a solid first half of the season when they secured their Serie A spot for next season. Bologna has been thorough a lot over the last couple of seasons, but they have never stopped fighting. With 33 points, Bologna is now in 13th place in the Serie A standings. Bologna’s offense is not great, they have scored only 32 goals, while their defense just wasn’t good enough to pick up the pace. Bologna has conceded 44 goals. Michael, Dominguez, and De Silvestri are all injured for Bologna. Arnautovic has 9 goals to his name this season, while Barrow has added 5 goals and 4 assists. Bologna has a pretty hard schedule for the rest of the season, and even though they are not playing well right now, I’m sure they will fight to win some points and to additionally secure their spot in Serie A for next season.
Bologna hasn’t won any of their last 6 games against Milan, while Milan hasn’t lost any of their last 6 home games to Bologna. Milan needs the win here, it’s that simple, and I think they will get it.
