Toronto handled the Orioles pretty well this week and took a four-game series victory. The Jays won 7-3 and 8-4 in the Monday doubleheader but fell 9-6 in the Tuesday game three. In the finale, Toronto finished things off with a solid 4-1 victory.

Starter for the Friday matchup will be Toronto’s Ross Stripling. Over his 27 games (19 starts) so far Stripling is 7-4 with a 3.03 ERA. In 107.0 innings total he has 36 earned on 92 hits and 19 walks with 94 Ks.

Over on the Rangers’ side, they had a tense and close series versus the Astros this week. Texas took a rough 1-0 loss in the Monday opener, then struck back with a 4-3 win Tuesday. In the Wednesday rubber match, the Rangers lost another 4-3 outcome.

Dane Dunning will take the mound for the Rangers in the Friday matchup. Over his 26 starts this year Dunning is 3-8 with a 4.37 ERA. In 138.0 innings total he has 67 earned on 142 hits and 56 walks with 119 strikeouts.

The Jays are 6-1 in the last seven overall and 12-2 in their last 14 road games. Toronto is 4-1 in their last five after a win.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are 14-37 in their last 51 Friday games and 1-4 in their last five versus a team with a winning record. Texas is 1-10 in their last 11 overall.

PICK: I’m going with the Jays. Stripling has had a few ups and downs over his last handful of starts, but overall he’s doing pretty well these days. In his most recent trio of outings, Stripling has seven earned in 18.0 innings on 15 hits and four walks. He’s 2-1 in that time. As for Dunning, he’s got 11 earned in his last 14.0 innings combined and is 0-2 in his last three. Toronto should be in control here.
