The Chicago White Sox and the Seattle Mariners meet in MLB action from T-Mobile Park on Tuesday night.
The Chicago White Sox will look to build on their 3-2 win over the Mariners from Monday’s series opener. Jose Abreu has 14 home runs, along with 63 RBIs, 158 hits and 31 doubles while Luis Robert has a .296 batting average with 107 hits, 12 home runs and 56 RBIs and Andrew Vaughn has 63 RBIs, a .284 batting average and 25 doubles this season. A.J. Pollock’s also added 47 RBIs and 23 doubles on the year for Chicago while Tim Anderson has 100 hits and a .301 batting average. Johnny Cueto will start here and is 7-6 with a 2.93 ERA and 82 strikeouts this season.
The Seattle Mariners will look to rebound from their loss to Chicago in Monday’s matchup. Ty France leads the Mariners with 126 hits along with 18 home runs and 70 RBIs while Adam Frazier has 113 hits and 19 doubles. Eugenio Suarez also has 23 doubles with 25 homers of his own and 76 RBIs while J.P. Crawford has 112 hits, 5 homers and 21 doubles as well as a .253 batting average. Julio Rodriguez has also chipped in 21 doubles, 23 home runs and 67 RBIs for Seattle on the year. Logan Gilbert will start here and is 11-5 with a 3.35 ERA and 142 strikeouts this season.
Chicago is 2-6 in their last 8 road games and 10-1 in their last 11 game two matchups while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Seattle is 14-3 in their last 17 games against the AL Central and 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games while the under is 6-1-1 in their last 8 home games.
I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m on the under here. I simply think this is shaping up to be a pitcher’s duel between Cueto on the road and Logan Gilbert who has been arguably Seattle’s most consistent arm over the course of the season. I think this is a first to 3 wins kind of game so give me the under in this one.
