IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings vs. Kolkata Knight Riders Cricket Prediction

Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders
September 26, 2021 6:00 am EDT

IPL season 13 continues on Sunday September 26th, 6:00am EST with the 38th match of the tournament. Chennai Super Kings take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in what will be a thriller in Abu Dhabi.

Both teams are on a red-hot streak going into tomorrow’s encounter with Chennai Super Kings perfectly poised at the top of the table but the Kolkata Knight Riders having now placed themselves in the top 4 and will be aiming to maintain that come tomorrow.

Chennai Super Kings have been clicking on all cylinders, at least enough to be leading the table currently. Ruturaj Gaikwadin his last two matches has amassed 126 runs at an average of 63, proving to be the major threat to any opposition of late. The other batters have put their hand up in the last fixture which was against Royal Challengers Bangalore but they must be more consistent if they are to keep their current form up. Dwayne Bravo has been the security blanket for the Kings for many years and since the return of IPL he has proven that nothing has changed, taking 6 wickets in the last two matches at an impressive economy rate of 6.13. He will be called upon to lead the bowling attack once more tomorrow along with the likes of; Josh Hazelwood, Deepak Chahar, Sam Curran, Shardul Thakurand Mooen Ali.

Kolkata Riders have won comprehensively in their last two matches and will look to make light work of their opponents tomorrow. The bowling department has been off and on in terms of taking wickets but have quite economical which has allowed them to restrict the teams they faced and enabled the batters to chase par scores. Venkatesh Iyer has been the dominant opening batter that KKR need, scoring runs at will, his undeniable presence frightens his opponents. Shubman Gill has been hot and cold as Iyer’s partner but once they are able to click at the top with the other explosive batsmen to follow, this side can cause serious problems for opposing teams in the latter half of the tournament.

This game promises to be a show stopper, a thrilling contest between two teams that are hungry for continued success. On one hand, you have Chennai Super Kings that are in their usual position on the table and on the other hand, you have Kolkata Knight Riders who are fighting to stay alive. This game will come down to who holds their nerve longer and who wants it more and I believe that will be the Kolkata Knight Riders with the composure of their captain, Eoin Morgan and the core of players that they possess.
