CPL 2021: Jamaica Tallawahs vs St. Lucia Kings 8/27/21 T20 Cricket Prediction

Jamaica vs St. Lucia
August 27, 2021 12:00 am EDT

CPL continues on Friday August 27th, 2021 at Warner Park, Basseterre in St. Kitts with another heavyweight match, this time between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the St Lucia Kings.

Jamaica Tallawahs bowed out in the Semi-final stage last year after barely managing enough points to reach that far. It was a miserable season for them in 2020 but they are hoping for a better showing this time and will be led by RovmanPowell who has been out of the Windies white-ball side for quite some time. Like other teams, the Tallawahs have stuck with their core, the dominant Andre Russell (Dre Russ), Carlos Brathwaite who is currently quarantining and will most likely miss the game, the explosive Chadwick Walton, Kennar Lewis, veteran Fidel Edwards and the elegant Shamarh Brooks. Jason Mohammed joins the fold after being in the Trinbago Knight Riders kit for quite some time, Chris Green will also suit up for the Tallawahs who was a part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors previously. This side has a lot of potential but potential does not win games, how you perform on the day with that same potential does, so can they produce on the match what they have on paper?

St. Lucia Zouks are now the St. Lucia Kings! This change comes after their first appearance to the finals last year behind a solid showing in the group stages. The Kings have what we call a “sleeping team” this year which basically means that they can shock many opponents this year and reach a second successive final. Faf du Plessis is the captain this year, his experience will go a long way into shaping this team into a title contending one with amazing talent surrounding him with the likes of: Roston Chase, RahkeemCornwall, Mark Deyal, Andre Fletcher, Kesrick Williams, Alzarri Joseph, Keron Cottoy and Keemo Paul along with the ever-impressive Obed McCoy. Wahab Riaz, Usman Qadir, Migael Pretorius and Haiden Ali headline the international signings for the Kings. St. Lucia Kings will go into this match as they intend to do the rest, with their heads held high and their best foot going forward to replicate what they would’ve accomplished last season and go one step further but they have their work cut out for them.

Match number three in this year’s Caribbean Premier League and already so much action. Each team is eager to get their campaign going, a lot of cricket to be played and a month in which to do it. Jamaica Tallawahs is the more consistent team and can boast that fact but I am taking the St. Lucia Kings to win this one. They have a whole host of match winning players and can be very explosive. I expect a very close contest, with St. Lucia coming out on top.
