The Weber State Wildcats and the Washington Huskies meet Monday in college basketball action from Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Weber State managed a 21-12 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the Big Sky Conference last year. As for Washington, they went 17-15 overall in 2021-22, landing in sixth place in the Pac-12. Weber State had a decent run in a crowded Big Sky Conference last season. The Wildcats managed to go 21-12 overall with a 13-7 record in conference games. That left Weber State in fourth place behind Montana State, Southern Utah and Northern Colorado.

Weber State hit an eight-game win streak to open up the season last year, then lost five of the next seven games. The Wildcats would go just 2-6 to finish the regular season, then ultimately lost 69-66 to Montana State in the semifinals of the Big Sky Tournament.

Over on the Washington side, they managed to stay above .500 last year with a 17-15 overall record and a 11-9 run in Pac-12 matchups. That would leave the Huskies in sixth place behind Arizona, UCLA, USC, Colorado and Oregon.

Washington was sitting at 12-8 back in early February, but finished off the year on a sketchy 4-6 run. After a win over Utah in the Pac-12 Tournament, the Huskies lost to USC 65-61 in the quarterfinals to finish off their campaign.

The Wildcats are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 Monday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. Washington is 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 at home.

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Washington. The bad news for the Huskies is that they’ll be without four of last year’s starters in 2022-23. Terrell Brown, Daejon Davis, Emmitt Matthews and Nate Roberts are all gone. That said, Washington gets some enticing transfer players like Noah Williams and Keion Brooks. The new guys will have their hands full trying to fill in the production gap, but if all goes well Washington shouldn’t see much of a dip.
