Delaware State had a rough game versus Virginia Tech in their opener, falling 95-57 in a blowout. The Hornets were able to rebonds versus Immaculata in their second game 104-67, but then fell to Villanova 60-50.

On Wednesday versus Columbia, Delaware State was down 31-23 by halftime. the Hornets made a 42-39 run in the second but it wasn’t enough in the 70-65 loss. O’Koye Parker led the way on 16 points, and Khyrie Staten added 15 points.

Over on the UConn side, they’re rolling along pretty well so far. The Huskies managed an 85-54 win over Stonehill in their opener, then took out Boston U 86-57 in game two. Game three was another win 84-64 over Buffalo.

The Huskies kept their undefeated run going in Friday’s game versus UNC Wilmington. UConn put up 40 points in the first half and 46 more from there in an 86-50 win. Adama Sanogo was tops in scoring with 24 points, and Jordan Hawkins added 20 points.

PICK: I’m probably staying with UConn, but the line is way too thick to mess with. The Huskies haven’t shown too many weaknesses so far, but they haven’t been challenged yet either. UConn shot a nice 53.8 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range (10-of-22) in their win over UNCW. The Huskies have hit 84 or more points in every game so far. It’s going to be tough for Delaware State to keep the pace in this one.
