Pepperdine vs Nevada 12/6/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Nevada Wolf Pack and the Pepperdine Waves meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Firestone Fieldhouse. Nevada is 7-2 this year and fresh off a loss to LMU. Nevada hit a five-game win streak out of the gate this year. The Wolf Pack beat Utah Tech, Grand Canyon, William Jessup, TX-Arlington and Tulane before a loss to Kansas State. Nevada bounced back with wins over Akron and Sam Houston. 

In game nine back on Saturday, the Wolf Pack had a 33-33 tie going into the second half. Nevada scored just 19 points from there and lost 64-52. Tops in scoring was Jarod Lucas with 18 points. Nick Davidson added 11 points as well. 

Over on the Pepperdine side, they beat Rice in their opener then fell to CSU Fullerton. Pepperdine would then hit a three-game win streak versus Alabama State, Vanguard and UC Irvine before a blowout loss to UCLA. 

On Saturday versus Northern Arizona, Pepperdine got back into the win column. The Waves scored 41 points in the first half and 47 more from there in an 88-69 win. Maxwell Lewis led the team on 30 points, and Mike Mitchell added 17 points. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Pepperdine. That said, you could make a good case either way. The Waves already have had several ups and downs so far this year. Still, Pepperdine has some nice performances versus comparable teams. The Waves have scored 71 or more points in five of their seven games so far and should post a pretty solid total here as well. 

As for Nevada, they’ve posted some pretty nice totals as well this season (75 or more in five of nine games). Pepperdine should pose a good challenge, and this should be a high-scoring matchup if both teams are on.
