The UConn Huskies and the Oregon Ducks meet Thursday in college basketball action from Moda Center. UConn is 5-0 this year and fresh off a win over Delaware State. As for Oregon, they’re sitting at 2-2 overall. The Ducks lost to Houston in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

UConn has been rolling along pretty well this year with five straight wins to open the campaign. The Huskies kicked off with a win over Stonehill, then beat Boston U. In game three UConn beat Buffalo, and game four was a blowout win 86-50 versus UNCW.

On Sunday versus Delaware State, UConn kept their winning streak going. The Huskies posted a 57-24 halftime advantage and cruised to a 95-60 result. Leading scorer Adama Sanogo managed 26 points with eight rebounds.

Over on the Oregon side, they beat Florida A&M 80-45 in their opener. The Ducks were outmatched by UC Irvine 69-56 in game two, but were able to bounce back versus Montana State last Tuesday for an 81-51 win.

In the Sunday game versus Houston, Oregon faced a 31-24 deficit at the break. The Ducks didn’t get any closer and lost 66-56. N’Faly Dante led the team with a double-double on 16 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with UConn. Granted, this will likely be the Huskies’ toughest game of the year so far—they haven’t really been challenged at all yet. That said, UConn posted a blistering 57.4 percent shooting from the field in the win over Delaware State, adding 39 rebounds and 25 team assists. As for Oregon, they did well on the boards (37 rebounds) against Houston but couldn’t get the shots to fall very well. I like this one to be competitive in the first half before UConn pulls away.
