Kansas State vs LSU 11/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The LSU Tigers and the Kansas State Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from John Gray Gymnasium. LSU is sitting pretty at 5-0 overall this year. The Tigers took out Akron in their Tuesday matchup. As for Kansas State, they’re 5-0 as well following a win over Nevada on Tuesday. LSU has been on a nice run to kick off the year. The opener was a win over UMKC 74-63, then the Tigers took a 61-52 win versus Arkansas State. LSU beat New Orleans 91-62 and Illinois State 77-61 in their next pair. 

On Tuesday versus Akron, LSU trailed 35-33 at halftime. The Tigers surged for a 40-23 second-half edge and bagged a 73-58 win. Adam Miller put up 23 points to lead the way, and KJ Williams added 19 points with five boards. 

Over on the Kansas State side, they kicked off the season with a 93-59 win over UTRGV and a 63-54 win over California. The Wildcats followed that up with two more wins over UMKC 69-53 and Rhode Island 77-57 in the next pair. 

In the Tuesday game versus Nevada, Kansas State scored 44 points in the second half to force overtime. The Wildcats managed 16 points in the extra period for a 96-87 victory. Markquis Nowell topped the team with a double-double on 29 points and 11 assists. 

PICK: I might try Kansas State in this one. The Wildcats are coming off a gutsy overtime win over a good Nevada team on Tuesday. Kansas State shot 55 percent from the field with 22-of-28 (78.6 percent) from the line. The Wildcats out-rebounded Nevada 36-22 and had 21 team assists in a well-rounded outing. 

As for LSU, they had a slow first half versus Akron but made up for it after the break. The Tigers ended up shooting 48.1 percent from the field but lost the rebounding battle 36-31 (19-8 offensive). LSU is doing great so far this year, but this matchup could be closer than usual.
