The BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders meet Friday in week 8 CFL action at Mosaic Stadium. The BC Lions look to build on their 4-1 start. The Saskatchewan Roughriders need a win to rebound from back-to-back losses.

The BC Lions have lost 8 of their last 13 regular season games. Nathan Rourke is completing 78.8 percent of his passes for 1,605 yards, 14 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Dominique Rhymes and Lucky Whitehead have combined for 775 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns, while Keon Hatcher has 22 receptions. The BC Lions ground game is averaging 120.8 yards per contest, and James Butler leads the way with 319 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, BC is allowing 20.8 points and 330.8 yards per game. Jordan Williams leads the BC Lions with 21 tackles, Sione Teuhema has 3 sacks and Garry Peters has 3 interceptions.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have won 8 of their last 12 regular season games. Coby Fajardo is completing 69 percent of his passes for 1,488 yards, 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Kian Schaffer-Baker and D’haquille Williams have combined for 689 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, while Jamal Morrow has 24 receptions. The Saskatchewan Roughriders ground game is averaging 113.9 yards per contest, and Morrow leads the way with 437 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, Saskatchewan is allowing 22.9 points and 355.3 yards per game. Larry Dean leads the Saskatchewan Roughriders with 40 tackles, Pete Robertson has 7 sacks and Derrick Moncrief has 3 interceptions.

The Lions are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Roughriders are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Friday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The over is 9-2 in Lions last 11 games overall. The over is 4-1 in Roughriders last 5 games overall. The Lions are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 meetings.

The BC Lions have been the most impressive team up to this point, with an offense that’s first in the league across the board and a defense that’s first in total defense and passing defense. I understand why the line is what it is. however, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are still getting respect from oddsmakers here, and it makes you think. Also, the Roughriders have won each of the last 8 meetings against the Lions. In fact, the Lions have not beaten the Roughriders since August 2017. This line feels fishy, as you can argue BC should be bigger favorites given its current form. I’ll take a shot with the Roughriders at home.
