The Army Black Knights and Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks square off Saturday in week 8 college football action from Michie Stadium.

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will be out to snap a three-game losing streak after a 41-34 loss to South Alabama last time out to fall to 2-5 on the year as a result. Tyrell Robinson leads Army with 321 rushing yards while Tyson Riley and the aforementioned Tyler each have 200+ rushing yards as well this season. Isaiah Alston has a team-high 199 receiving yards coming on 11 catches as well this season. On defense, Leo Lowin has a team-high 55 total tackles including 34 solo tackles and Andre Carter II has a pair of sacks this season.

Louisiana-Monroe is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss and 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games played on turf while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 games following an ATS win. Army is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.

I get the reasoning for backing Army here as ULM’s been pretty bad defensively and the Warhawks’ offense has been nothing to write home about this season either. However, Army’s only wins this season have come against FCS teams and in their last couple of games, Army’s offense has struggled against FBS opposition and the best thing that ULM’s defense is good at is stopping the run. It’s not going to be pretty, but ULM’s been covering well in their last couple of games, so I’ll side with the Warhawks and the points in this one.
