The Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Syracuse Orange clash Saturday in week 12 ACC college football action from Truist Field.

The Syracuse Orange will be out to rebound from a 38-3 loss to Florida State in their last game. Garrett Shrader has thrown for 1,701 yards, 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 64.9% passing while also rushing for 371 yards and 6 scores and Sean Tucker has a team-high 829 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns while Oronde Gadsden II has a team-high 42 receptions for 700 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns this season. Devaughn Cooper has 245 receiving yards while five other Orange receivers have at least 100 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Mikel Jones has a team-high 81 total tackles while Syracuse’s defense has combined for 24 sacks and 10 interceptions this season.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will try to bounce back after a 36-34 loss to North Carolina in their last game. Sam Hartman has thrown for 2,743 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 62.2% passing while Justice Ellison has a team-high 534 rushing yards with 4 TDs and Christian Turner has 423 rushing yards and a team-high 7 rushing touchdowns this season. A.T. Perry leads Wake’s receiving group with 52 grabs for 774 yards and 7 touchdowns while Donavon Greene also has 560 receiving yards and 5 receiving TDs this season. Jahmal Banks has 499 receiving yards with 8 touchdowns while Ke’Shawn Williams has 451 rushing yards and Taylor Morin has 393 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Ryan Smenda Jr. has a team-high 91 total tackles while Rondell Bothroyd and Jasheen Davis each have a team-high 5 sacks and Wake’s defense as a unit has 24 sacks and 6 interceptions this season.

Syracuse is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in November while the under is 4-0 int heir last 4 games following an ATS loss. Wake Forest is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a winning home record.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m looking at the Demon Deacons here as I just don’t know what to make of Syracuse’s offense and the offense is just sputtering along. Wake Forest hasn’t been as dominant as they were last season, but they’re still a solid team and they have a top ACC quarterback in Sam Hartman leading the charge. I’ll side with Wake to win this one by two scores.
