The South Carolina Gamecocks and Tennessee Volunteers clash Saturday in week 12 SEC college football action from Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Tennessee Volunteers will be looking to build on their 66-24 rout of Missouri in their last game. Hendon Hooker has thrown for 2,888 yards, 24 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 71,1% passing while Jaylen Wright has a team-high 598 rushing yards with 8 touchdowns while Jabari Small has 537 rushing yards with a team-high 9 scores and Hooker has 405 rushing yards and 5 TDs as well. Jalin Hyatt leads Tennessee with 58 catches for 1,116 yards and 15 receiving TDs while Bru McCoy has 600 receiving yards and Ramel Keyton and Cedric Tillman each have 300+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Trevon Flowers and Aaron Beasley each have a team-high 53 total tackles while Tennessee’s defense has 23 sacks and 9 interceptions this season.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will hope to bounce back from a 38-6 loss to Florida in their last game. Spencer Rattler has thrown for 1,982 yards, 8 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on 65% passing while MarShawn Lloyd’s rushed for a team-high 556 yards and 9 touchdowns. Antwane Wells Jr. has a team-high 590 receiving yards and 43 receptions while Jalen Brooks has 415 receiving yards for the Gamecocks as well this season. On defense, Nick Emmanwori has a team-high 66 total tackles including 51 solo tackles while South Carolina’s defensive unit has combined for 16 sacks and 11 interceptions this season.

Tennessee is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the over is 12-4 in their last 16 games overall. South Carolina is 6-15 ATS in their last 21 conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the case to be made for South Carolina as a home dog, but this Tennessee team has to keep winning in impressive fashion to impress the playoff committee to let them in the top four. On the other side, I think Tennessee wins comfortably, but having the hook on top of the three touchdowns makes this a tough line to feel comfortable about in the event the Vols win by three scores. Instead, I’m going to back the over. I think Tennessee’s going to score at will against the Gamecocks, but I do think that South Carolina’s going to do their share of scoring as well and all in all, I think we have a game that finishes in the 70s. Give me the over.
