The Rice Owls will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 8 games after a 45-10 loss to Western Kentucky last time out. TJ McMahon has thrown for 2,102 yards with 18 touchdowns and 14 interceptions on 60.2% passing while Cameron Montgomery’s rushed for 452 yards to lead the Owls on the ground and Juma Otoviano has 274 rushing yards as well this season. On defense, Chris Conti has a team-high 58 total tackles with 22 solo tackles while Josh Pearcy has a team-high 5.5 sacks as well this season.

UTSA is 15-6 ATS in their last 21 road games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games in November while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 road games. Rice is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in November while the over is 7-0 in their last 7 home games.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m looking at the over in this one. Defense has been an issue all season long for Rice and I don’t expect this game to be any different against a UTEP offense that can fly up and down the field. On the other side, I don’t expect UTSA to get out unscathed either here and I just feel like this is going to be a bit of a shootout. Give me the over.
