The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and Texas State Bobcats clash Saturday in a week 10 Sun Belt college football matchup from Malone Stadium.

The Texas State Bobcats will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 20-14 loss to Southern Miss last time out, dropping to 3-5 on the year as a result. Layne Hatcher has thrown for 1,944 yards, 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on 62.8% passing while Lincole Pare leads the Bobcats with 346 rushing yards and Calvin Hill has 333 rushing yards as well this season. Ashtyn Hawkins leads Texas State’s receiving group with 54 grabs for 581 yards and 7 touchdowns while three other receivers have at least 200 receiving yards this season. On defense, Levi Bell has a team-high 5 sacks and Kordell Rodgers has 4 INTs this season.

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will hope to rebound from a 4th straight loss, falling to 2-6 with a 48-24 loss to Army last time out. Chandler Rogers has thrown for 1,601 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 70.9% passing while Malik Jackson has a team-high 367 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns while Andrew Henry has 254 rushing yards and 3 scores as well this year. Tyrone Howell has a team-high 29 receptions for 529 receiving yards while Jevin Frett has 327 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Tristan Driggers has a team-high 47 total tackles while ULM’s defense has combined for 13 sacks and 5 interceptions so far this season.

Texas State is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games in November and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 road games against a team with a losing home record. Louisiana-Monroe is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 13-3 in their last 16 games following an ATS loss.

I think it’s safe to say there are better options on Saturday’s card, but if forced to pick, I’d side with Texas State here. ULM has been scoring more consistently as of late, but their defense is a real issue and these teams are pretty similar statistically up to this point in the season on the offensive side of the ball. I just think that ULM is going to have a tougher time moving the ball against Texas State than the other way around, and in a pick ‘em spot, I have to side with Texas State here.
