The Jayhawks went on to fall in blowout fashion. As for Kansas State, they faced West Virginia last Saturday. In that one the Wildcats took a 17-point victory. Kansas started the year on a nice run with wins over Tennessee Tech, West Virginia, Houston, Duke and Iowa State. The Jayhawks went 1-4 over the next five games, falling to TCU, Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas Tech.

In the Texas game, Kansas was down 31-0 by halftime. There wasn’t much the Jayhawks could do in the second either, and they lost 55-14. QB Jalon Daniels put up 230 yards with two scores and a pick. Devin Neal led the rush on 51 yards from 13 carries.

Over on the Wildcats’ side, they were 5-1 over their first six this year with wins over South Dakota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Iowa State. Kansas was 2-2 in the next four games with losses to TCU and Texas.

Back on Saturday versus West Virginia, the Wildcats were up 28-19 after a wild first quarter. Things calmed down after that in an eventual 48-31 Kansas State win. QB Will Howard put up 294 yards with two TDs and an interception. DJ Giddens rushed for 79 yards and a score on 12 totes.

The Jayhawks are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 overall and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 on turf. Kansas is 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 6-2 ATS in their last eight on turf and 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 overall. Kansas State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven at home.

PICK: I may try Kansas; probably staying away, though. The Jayhawks got drilled by Texas in their last game, giving up 539 yards, 28 first downs and 6.8 yards per play along the way. The real Jayhawks weakness was in rush defense: they surrendered 427 yards on the ground.

As for Kansas State, they took care of business against West Virginia in their last game. The Wildcats put up 438 yards of offense (144 rushing) with 21 first downs. Kansas State has given up 31 or more points in three of their last five games though, so there may be some room for the Jayhawks here.
