The Hawaii Warriors and Utah State Aggies square off Saturday in a week 11 Mountain West conference college football matchup from Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

The Utah State Aggies will look to build on their 4-5 record after a third win in four games following a 27-10 win over New Mexico last time out. Logan Bonner has thrown for 753 yards, 6 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on 56.4% passing while Cooper Legas has thrown for 677 yards, 6 touchdowns and 5 picks on 60% passing. Calvin Tyler Jr. has a team-high 740 rushing yards while Robert Briggs has 341 rushing yards. Brian Cobbs has a team-high 46 grabs for 573 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns while Justin McGriff and Terrell Vaughn each have 300+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, AJ Vongphachanh has a team-high 77 total tackles. Utah State’s defense as a whole has combined for 15 sacks and 8 interceptions this season, led by Daniel Grzesiak’s 5 sacks.

The Hawaii Warriors will try to snap a three-game losing streak, sitting at 2-8 on the year after a 3rd straight loss following a 55-13 loss to Fresno State in their last game. Brayden Schager has thrown for 1,610 yards, 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 55.7% passing while Dedrick Parson has a team-high 586 rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs while Tylan Hines has 461 rushing yards as well this season. Zion Bowens leads all Hawaii receivers with 289 receiving yards while Hawaii has three more receivers with at least 200 receiving yards and another four receivers have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Penei Pavihi has a team-high 61 total tackles including 34 solo tackles while John Tuitupou has 3 of Hawaii’s 10 sacks this season. Malik Hausman has a team-high 3 interceptions and Virdel Edwards II and Peter Manuma each have a pair of interceptions as well this season.

Utah State is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS win while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record. Hawaii is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 home games.

I get the case to back (or fade) either of these teams, but I’m looking at the under in this one. These are just two offenses that are hard to trust at the best of times and now Hawaii comes in not being able to catch a break offensively and I just see this as a game that struggles to hit 40 points if we do. I could easily see a 24-13 game for Utah State or a 21-17 game for Hawaii. No matter which way you slice it, I like the under.
