Ohio opened up their season at a spotty 2-3 with losses to Penn State, Iowa State and Kent State. The Bobcats have been on a nice run since then however, and have won their last five games versus Akron, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Buffalo and Miami-OH.

In the Miami-OH matchup last Tuesday, the Bobcats were up 10-7 by halftime. Ohio scored 27 more points from there in a 37-21 win. QB Kurtis Rourke finished with 362 yards and three scores. Sieh Bangura managed 145 yards and a score from 20 carries.

Over on the Cardinals’ side, their year began at a rough 1-3 following losses to Tennessee, Western Michigan and Georgia Southern. After a win streak versus Northern Illinois, Central Michigan and UConn, Ball State lost to Eastern Michigan, beat Kent State and lost to Toledo.

Matched up against Toledo last Tuesday, the Cardinals had a 21-21 tie going into the final quarter. Ball State couldn’t keep up and lost 28-21. QB John Paddock put up 94 yards and a pick. Carson Steele did most of the offensive work with 198 rush yards and three scores.

The Bobcats are 5-0 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Ohio is 5-2 ATS in the last seven in November.

Meanwhile, Ball State is 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. The Cardinals are 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

PICK: I’m going with Ohio. The Bobcats had a nice offensive outing in their win over Miami-OH, posting 556 total yards (194 rushing), 7.1 yards per play, 27 first downs and 41:20 in time of possession. Ohio held the RedHawks to just 16 first downs and 1-of-7 on third-down tries as well.

As for Ball State, they finished with just 94 passing yards (and 187 rushing) in their loss to Toledo. The Cardinals notched 16 first downs and were 5-of-20 on third-down tries. Ohio will be another relatively tough opponent.
